Those working in this field believe that the pest control industry offers the best career. Some days may seem rather mundane, while most of the time, your work is pretty exciting. As a pest control technician, you get to help people by solving their pest problems. Many find this line of work rewarding because what you do directly impacts people’s health and well-being. At Ameri Care Services, we are currently looking to hire pest control technicians in our Murfreesboro, Hermitage, and Nashville service areas. While we think it’s a rewarding career, you must believe that, too! That’s why today on the blog, we share four reasons to choose a career in pest control.

  1. Supportive Industry

The pest control industry has lots of support, whether from other pest control companies or professional organizations like the National Pest Management Association (NPMA). If you don’t know the answer or want to explore best practices or industry trends, the NPMA is there to help you. Ameri Care Services is a member of the NPMA, and we offer on-the-job training to all new hires to ensure you are up to speed before sending you off on jobs solo. We also offer ongoing training, as needed, to ensure you remain up to date on the safety and usage of pest solutions that you’ll often use daily.

  1. Helping Others

As we mentioned above, the pest control industry allows you to help others. Homeowners or business owners dealing with pests are subjected to insect bites that may lead to skin irritations or allergic reactions, as well as compromise their overall well-being. For instance, some pests, like rodents and cockroaches, spread diseases to humans and can be a significant threat to one’s health, especially those with compromised immunity. Therefore, when you offer pest control services, you’re helping others and solving their pest problem. What you do significantly impacts the health and well-being of others, even though you don’t wear scrubs or work at a hospital!

  1. Have Fun

Not all pest control companies are alike. But here at Ameri Care, we like to work hard and play harder. We often celebrate holidays with potlucks and office parties. When you join our team, you also get to take part in our annual picnic, where we spend an entire day having fun on the water at a nearby park. We believe that our people are the backbone of the company, which is why we offer competitive pay, benefits, retirement, and paid time off. We also like to treat everyone like family, so you will feel right at home when you join our team.

  1. Work Outdoors

Perhaps another benefit to working in pest control is that you’re not stuck in a cubicle. Instead, you get to be outside a lot, travel between your stops, and meet a lot of nice people. Therefore, if you don’t like the idea of being stuck behind a desk, this job is for you! While you’ll have a little bit of paperwork to complete, it’s not much, and most of it can be done electronically before you leave for your next job site.
