In a recent survey, homeowners sounded off about the pest that concern them most and pose the biggest threat to their health and safety during this time. Mosquitoes came in on top followed by ants, ticks, wasps and hornets. Spiders rounded out the top five.
We suggest the following: Since pests invade from the outside by way of vegetation and structural guidelines that run along your home, make sure tree branches, shrubs and plants are trimmed back away from the home. Check for and seal off any holes on the outside of your home. Eliminate sources of standing water and keep your gutters clear of debris. Check eaves, grills, shutters and porch lights frequently for wasp and hornet nests. If you’ve been in high grass or wooded areas, check for ticks on yourself, your children and pets.
